MORE than 12 people are feared to have died yesterday when a driver of a Matabeleland North Provincial Malaria Control vehicle failed to negotiate a curve near Tsholotsho Business Centre resulting in the truck overturning.

Sources said the Ministry of Health and Child Care truck was ferrying a team on a mosquito spraying programme which had done duty in the Jimila area.

The accident is said to have occurred at around 5pm and by 10pm two tractors were being used to turn over the truck as some of the occupants, who included villagers, were still trapped under the vehicle.

Comment from the police could not be obtained at the time of going to press, but community leaders in the area confirmed the accident.
