STEVEN Sanders, better known by his stage name(s), the Kwekwe Hustler or DJ Stavo, has released yet another hot single, featuring another popular South African artiste Fiesta Black, of the Xigubu fame, proving that the industry is his for the taking.
Last week he excitedly wrote on his Facebook page, “BREAKING NEWS: I’m dropping My New HIT SINGLE tomorrow. Featuring Fiesta Black (FB) called “TEKA FAMBA” AIN’T NOBODY STOPPING ME NOW…”

The single becomes one of the many he has done with an endless list of artistes he has worked with both locally and internationally.

In a brief interview with Sunday Leisure while in South Africa for the launch of the track a fortnight ago, DJ Stavo said he was excited about the track and hoped it would gain popularity just as his Ingoma track, which features South Africa’s Shota.

“I am in South Africa launching the track and we are also presently working on the video,” he said.

The track, which Sunday Leisure had the opportunity to sample is a party song, a fusion of house music with some traces of urban grooves beats and a dash of Samba.

The track Teka Famba, sung in Tsonga, meaning take away, could likely propel DJ Stavo to dizzy heights, as it has already become a favourite among many on the internet, judging by the number of downloads in the first week.

Last year he released the Ingoma track, which quickly became a hit both locally and in South Africa. The track, which also has a video, was played on Dstv’s Channel O and on Trace TV.
Fiesta Black becomes one of the many artistes he has collaborated with internationally.

He has collaborated with the likes of Zeus, Cibil Nyte both from Botswana, Mandoza, Lolo and Shota from South Africa.

Local artistes he has partnered with include ExQ, Roki, Leonard Mapfumo, Cindy, Trevor Dongo, Mac Dee and John Falsetto.

Fiesta Black is a South African based singer and songwriter. Her collaboration with Dj Ganyani on the smash hit Xigubu shot her to fame, turning her into a much sought after vocalist for many DJs.  Fiesta Black, whose real name is Thandi Nakampe Mokgoankgoa, has not really been given much credit for her talent, even after releasing the DJ Ganyani mastered Xigubu hit.

She was actually the main component that sold the track, so say music analysts.
It is reported that Fiesta Black – 24 originally wrote the song in English and called it The Drum.  DJ Ganyani then added and translated the lyrics into Tsonga.

Before the track was released she was just another artiste in the industry seeking to make a breakthrough in the highly competitive showbiz sector.

“Life’s hard when you are hustling. I wanted to be able to take care of myself and my mother and even considered stripping in Hillbrow. But I quit after my first day,” she said in an interview with a South African magazine.
