THE biggest rivalry in the Titan Law sponsored Bulawayo Metropolitan Cricket Association First League is on this morning when Queens Sports Club meet Bulawayo Athletic Club at Queens.

What makes the contest even more exciting is the fact that the two teams were victorious in their last contests last Sunday and come into this clash itching to prove who is the best in the city.

BAC defeated log leaders Roosters by five runs in a low scoring encounter while Queens saw off Emakhandeni by four wickets. The two teams are joint second on the log with 23 points, one point behind log leaders Roosters.

The biggest concern for BAC is their batting which has seen them struggle to post a score of more than 100 runs. They have not been helped by the absence of their star players Sean Williams and Tawanda Mupariwa who are with the national team at the International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup while young batsman Tafara Mupariwa has been drafted into the Matabeleland Tuskers team. In addition, left arm seamer Brian Vitori has never turned out for the club this season due to either his Tuskers commitments or injuries.

In the non-availability of the four, BAC are strongly relying on the batting exploits of Tony Mupariwa, Mike Mhlanga, Basil Ndlovu, Fleming Nkomo and Clarkson Gombami. Kevin Kandala who took six for 36 runs in 10 overs against Roosters leads the BAC bowling attack with the assistance of Ray Kasimo, Kudzai Banda, Keith Kwangwari and Tawanda Bidi.

Queens have most of their players available save for top order batsman Bonaparte Mujuru who is on Tuskers duty. Christopher Mwanza, Delta Sivalo, Mduduzi Fuzwayo, Christopher Mpofu, Stanslaus Rukato, Sheunopa Musekwa, Peter Thomson and Jeffrey Mhuriyengwe are some of the players expected to star for Queens.

Across the city at BAC, Roosters who saw their lead at the top cut to just a point come up against bottom of the log side Emakhandeni.
