MANY new bloggers only start blogging with the intention to earn or be famous and they quit after a short period of time without achieving their goals.

Your main intention for blogging should not just be to have a million followers or be famous but rather to impact lives, establish yourself as a brand and add value to the fashion industry. You shouldn’t just expect it to happen overnight; your blog is not just a platform to show off your fancy lifestyle.

If you can afford to post pictures and write about your lush life that’s fantastic, but your blog can also sound off on fashion topics, in your town, country or social circle.

You should not fail to realise the importance of personality in your blog; try to be as personal as possible. Blogs are not a medium for scamming, blogs are used to build your credibility and establish yourself. If you think you can just set up a blog with the intention of scamming people, then you are deceiving yourself. Use your real name, add a picture of yourself, don’t use another person’s writing style. Be yourself and yourself only. It is also very important to have an about page which will tell your readers more about you. “You cannot be me and I cannot be you, try to be yourself,” says a blogger.

As a blogger, you must be able to be creative and come up with new ideas on our own. Great and successful bloggers don’t just follow the norm, they all have their own ideas, they are creative in one form or the other which is what leads to their success. Many bloggers try to build traffic to their blog using only strategies like blog commenting, social bookmarking etc. Not that all these things don’t work anymore, they work quite effectively but are already being used so much so in order to achieve success more easily, you have to come up with something different.

Strive to achieve your goals; many bloggers fail to realise the importance of having goals. A goal is a plan of what you hope to achieve within a specific period of time. You might want to have 1 000 daily unique visitors, but when? You have to have a time-frame for goal and you should try as much as possible not to limit yourself with your goal. You should also realise that without hard work your dream will remain a dream. Setting goals will help you work harder towards achieving what you hope for.

Try and concentrate on one blog, don’t move to another one without having success with the first one. Stop building “hundreds” of blogs, focus on one.

If you have established your first blog, you can then move to another one. It takes a lot to build a successful blog and concentrating your attention on too many blogs at a time won’t do you any good.

Do not let the blog be all about you unless you are already a celebrity. The thing is people do not care about you but your services, only if it benefits them in a way. Be a problem solver, for example give beauty hacks, give tips on how to dress for occasions. Something along those lines, okay?

If you can provide content that focuses on the challenges faced by your readers, you’ll grow much quicker. You need to be known for doing one thing well at first. If that one thing that you talk about are weaves then that’s great. That’s what you do. You will become the best, an expert even, at weaves.

And then perhaps in your second year you might to start to focus on wigs. Because you have first established yourself as a weave expert people will trust you. They know that you know your stuff. You’re an expert. So when an expert then starts to expand and talks about another area it means you will AGAIN be considered an expert.

Take lots of high quality photos for your blog, but only post the best. You won’t always get a great shot the first time, so take several photos and choose the best one. Only post the best, most creative photos that will keep your followers interested and engaged. People have become lazy to read so pictures will make your blog more attractive.

Don’t expect that if you just follow a few people, like a few posts or include a couple of hashtags that it will just happen. It takes a lot of time and effort and you need to be methodical in who you like and when you do it. The better quality of your content, the more likely you are to get more likes and followers. Post when you would normally be online as others are most likely on too. Make your posts positive and your interactions respectful at all times.

Happy blogging.
