THE most outstanding Highlanders player of the month of May will get a reward from Body Works Gym during half-time of Bosso’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.
Nathan Greenland, the Body Works Gym director, who is presenting the award to the Highlanders best player for May said it was their way of trying to motivate the Bosso players to produce their best performances this season.

“We are encouraging other corporates to also come in and help to sponsor different things to motivate Highlanders and other teams. It’s all about weekends, what else do we do, those of us that are into football at least we can enjoy the quality. Once our players are being looked after and they are happy we will get better results,’’ Greenland said.

The accolade is in the form of a food hamper and training gear. Greenland expressed his desire to add more items as the year goes by as his wish is to sponsor the monthly award until the end of the 2018 season. Body Works Gym trainers in conjunction with the Highlanders technical team are responsible for choosing the Bosso Player of the Month.

“It’s a food hamper and some training gear, now at the end of the month we will have the June one as well, its continuous, for the rest of the season we are going to be doing this once a month. Our player of the month will be selected between our trainers and the Highlanders coaching department. We also put the offer to Bulawayo City but we have had no response,’’ said Greenland.

Highlanders and Bulawayo are the two PSL teams that train at Body Works Gym which is where Chicken Inn were fine tuning when they won the 2015 championship before the Gamecocks moved to another facility.

In May, Highlanders picked up two wins, drew three times and lost once. They scored four goals and conceded two.

Goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda, striker Newman Sianchali, midfielders Brian Banda and Adrian Silla are some of those who were outstanding for Bosso last month.
