BOSSO Chapter had something to smile about after clinching the sixth edition of the Male Involvement Soccer Tournament. The event took place on Sunday last week in Esporweni Soccer ground in Entumbane and Bosso beat hosts MaYellow 3-2 on penalties after a goalless draw. The male involvement Soccer tournament was organised by the Youth Creative Ideas and its main purpose is to educate men about the HIV virus and Aids through soccer. The tournament is held quarterly across Bulawayo.

Five teams from the Prevention Soccer league (Emakhandeni District) namely Bosso Chapter, the hosts MaYellow, Matshobana, 11 Stars and Busy Bee took part. Addressing the crowd after the tourney, the director of the Youth Creative Ideas, Mthokozisi Ndlovu hailed the teams and everyone who was there for their support and fair play throughout the tournament.

“I would like to thank the community as a whole for supporting this event as it unites people. I also like to thank the teams and the referee for practicing fair play up to the final whistle. We will continue doing this tournament because it benefits everyone of us,” he said. The tournament was meant to urge people to get tested for HIV and men to get circumcised. The champions walked away with $400, followed by MaYellow who claimed $300, former champions 11 stars booked the third place and were rewarded with $200, fourth placed Matshobana went away with $150 in their pockets and Busy Bee were consoled with $100.
