BULAWAYO City Football Club kept their campaign for promotion into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on track with a 3-0 win over students, Nust in a Zifa Southern Region League tie played at White City Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Goals from former Highlanders players, Bruce Tshuma and Ryan Mabhena and former Quelaton striker, Eddie Nkulungo gave the local authority’s team maximum points. City’s assistant coach, Farai Mujokoro expressed pleasure with the win saying they were on the right track but refused to confirm their PSL aspirations although it is an open secret, the side’s objective was a Premiership ticket in their first attempt.

Tshuma opened the score sheet with a spectacular header in the 21st minute off a corner kick and three minutes later Nkulungo blasted a shot just outside the box, on the right flank, to beat Norman Zimba, who was in between the posts for Nust.  Mabhena produced a strike from the top shelf to wrap it up for City when he eleased a thunderbolt 25 yards out which bounced off the crossbar before hitting Zimba’s backside in the 86th minute. Mujokoro, who was the head coach in City’s rise to the first Division, said the side was gelling, and hence the results were coming through.
