The Bulawayo Volleyball Association (BVA) has made a number of changes with the coming in of sponsors.

The league has seen a rise in the number of teams competing from five to seven despite losing three teams. The chairperson of the BVA, William Mazviro expressed delight at the growth of the league though he was quick to point out that the league was still far from reaching national and regional standards.

“The league has seen an increase in the number of teams competing and that’s a positive thing since it shows that we are moving in the correct direction but my main worry is on the standards of volleyball in Bulawayo. I think we need to up our game and build a much stronger league,” Mazviro said.

Mazviro said they have decided to play their games at White City Stadium and Milton High School.

“We have decided to use White City grounds and Milton High School as our venues so as to offer our fans that come from different parts of Bulawayo a chance to cheer their teams. I would like to give thanks to Fourways Driving School and KSN stationery shop for their help in the annual awards that we hosted this year. The awards helped create great momentum in the build-up to the league and we would like to call upon stakeholders to come and sponsor our league,” he said.
Beach Volleyball has also been introduced by the association.
