MATABELELAND Busters and Western Panthers coaches left the country yesterday for Durban, South Africa for a week long attachment to the KwaZulu-Natal Sharks.
In South Africa, Ruben Kumpasa of Busters and Panthers mentor George Mukorera are expected to attend the training sessions for the Sharks Academy as well as the Sharks first team proper.

On Friday evening, the two Bulawayo-based coaches will be accorded an opportunity to watch the Sharks live in action when the Durban side take on the Golden Lions in an ABSA Currie Cup match.

It would be a routine trip for the coaches since 2012, facilitated by Zimbabwe born former Springboks coach Ian McIntosh and Matabeleland Rugby Football Board vice-chairman, Sean Robinson.

Mukorera said they were really grateful for the opportunity as they were benefiting a lot from the trips.
“We are going for attachment with the Sharks as Bulawayo club coaches. We benefit a lot from these trips because we learn new techniques of the game. In future we want to take junior coaches and coaches from private schools,’’ said Mukorera.

Old Miltonians coach George Savada could not make the trip due to injury.
Zimbabwe Rugby Union president John Falkenberg also provided financial support for the travelling duo.
