FORMER captain Elton Chigumbura has been named in Zimbabwe’s squad for the triangular Twenty20 International cricket series against Australia and Pakistan in Harare next month.

The 32-year Chigumbura, a pace bowling all rounder last played international cricket for Zimbabwe in November 2016 when the Chevrons took on Sri Lanka in the  fourth match of the triangular One Day International series at Queens Sports Club, a contest which did not produce a result.

Chigumbura will be looking to add to the 47 T20Is he has previously played for the Chevrons between 2006 and 2016 after being named in a squad of 22 to face Australia and Pakistan.

A number of players who are yet to taste international action are in the squad, these being Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Ryan Murray and Rugare Magarira.

Senior players like Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, Tendai Chatara, Graeme Cremer, Sean Williams and Craig Ervine are not in the team to face the Aussies and the Pakistanis.
