MAVERICK Chiredzi FC coach Moses “Bambo” Chunga, who was recently fired by his paymasters, has been banned from setting foot on Chishamiso Stadium. Chiredzi FC were granted a restriction order by the courts against the controversial coach after the two parties’ relationship went sour last week.

The order, Case Number GL483/14 culminated from the executive’s fallout with the coach over allegations of pocketing gate takings amounting to $4 000 from a match pitting Chiredzi and Dynamos last month.

The order was issued to the club chairman, Charles Muchatukwa, who also signed it alongside Chiredzi Community as the team owners.
The order bans Chunga or any person acting through him to set foot at Chishamiso Stadium training grounds, Chiredzi FC player’s houses, being at match venues and calling, threatening or communicating with Chiredzi FC players.

In his application Machatukwa who was represented by Kwirira and Magwaliba Legal Practitioners, alleged that Chunga has been disobeying the owners of the club.

He also alleged that Chunga pocketed more than $4 000 as gate takings after the Chiredzi/Dynamos match at Chishamiso Stadium, the money which he allegedly converted to his own use.

Upon being asked about the money, Chunga quit the club but later changed his mind declaring that he was not going anywhere.
Muchatukwa said on 12 June and 13 June, Chunga allegedly instructed players not to train following his fall out with the executive.

He also alleged that on 27 June, players were supposed to go to Harare for a match with Black Rhinos and Muchatukwa is said to have had arranged transport but Chunga ordered the players to use public transport.

Players later got stranded after the match until Muchatukwa arranged transport for their return.
Chunga is accused of misrepresentation as he is allegedly claiming to be the owner of the team.

The drama at the club continued last week when the team played Harare City when the game was delayed by 30 minutes after Chunga had reportedly held on to players’ licences.

Team officials had to take photographs of all the players at the stadium before kickoff to rectify the problem after efforts to get the licences from the former Dynamos and Zimbabwe midfield maestro proved fruitless.
