BLACK is usually associated with power and sophistication, while white is associated with purity, completeness and peace. When combined correctly they change the look of your home into a beautiful, sophisticated and peaceful sanctuary. Depending on how you style your home, black and white have the power to add distinguished sophistication or a simple feel.

Here are some of the ways in which you can combine these colours to make your home look beautiful.

Black and white combination is very popular and it can be used in any room. For example assuming that the living room is spacious, one is able to design as they wish. The first thing to do is to decide which colour you want to use and in this case there are two colours, black and white. This therefore, means that you paint your walls white. By so doing the atmosphere will be airy and peaceful. To spice up things a bit you can use black accents here and there.

Again if the walls are white, different accent pieces can be used, of course in this case black. For instance, if you have a piece of furniture and you want it to stand out make it contrast with the dominant colour. If most of the decor is white this means it will be black and vice versa. Creating a colour contrast is a good idea but this works mostly when there is a distinct colour besides black and white. When these are the only colours you want to use, you should try to create a balance. Balancing your colours does not mean they should be always used equally, at times there can be one which is dominant.

However, even if you want to create a black and white interior, this does not mean you should only focus on only those two colours. There is also the floor and the ceiling which should be considered. On the floor you can either use black tiles or white or even both depending on your furniture. For example where you have a couch you can use a different colour, for example a neutral. In the dining room, your chairs can be beige or brown. For the ceiling, you can use white again, the choice is yours . . . obviously you cannot have a black ceiling entirely.

Black and white interior is very stylish but it does not necessarily restrict the colour use to only these two. You can add small hints of colours for the decorations and accessories. You can add some fresh green plants, maybe some splashes of red or orange.

Try not to feel limited by these two colours, this is the time to experiment and show your personality in the process. — Additional information from Online sources.
