BOTSWANA’S multi-platinum selling traditional group, Culture Spears, is relishing a link up with Zimbabwe’s man-of-the-moment — Jah Prayzah next weekend for shows in Francistown and Gaborone.
The multi-award winning outfit, undoubtedly the most successful musical ensemble in Botswana, renews its bond with the Tsviriyo hitmaker as they launch their fifth album, Kulanche in the two cities.

Jah Prayzah already has a fresh collabo with the group’s lead vocalist Charma Girl, Magdeline Lesolebe-Mogwe.
For the first time, their Botswana fans will hear the song Dali Wami live at Kagisong Hall in Mogoditshane, a fast-developing village on the fringes of Gaborone, on Saturday (1 August).

The following day they perform at BOCCIM Hall in Francistown.
Culture Spears’ leader, Kabelo Mogwe, husband to Charma Girl, has so much admiration for the Zimbabwean musician and believes he will light up their launch.

“We’re excited that he’s coming through for our launch, he’s a musician with enormous talent and we are sure his presence will certainly give colour to our launch,” Mogwe told Sunday Leisure.

Mogwe said Culture Spears were busy planning to launch the new album in one of Zimbabwe’s cities.
“We are actually working towards launching the album in Zimbabwe as well, and we are excited that because of our relationship with Jah Prayzah, we are able to do that,” he said.

The album Kulanche was released in May and unlike all the group’s previous offings, it has eight tracks. It had become custom for the ethnic music group to do six-track albums.

“We will perform all those songs live at the launch events.”
In recent months, media reports have speculated that a split was looming within the group, but Mogwe said this launch would prove to fans whether any of that was true.

“People must come and witness for themselves if all that talk is true at all. For us, we are going all out on this one and we want to show the nation that all is well within Culture Spears.”

His 31-year-old wife, Charma Girl, is equally excited about Jah Prayzah’s visit.
Apart from her duet with Jah Payzah on the song Dali Wami, the talented Tswana songbird also graced the launch of Kumbumura Mhute at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) in April.
