DYNAMOS trot onto Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane for their Chibuku Super Cup semi-final clash against Chapungu knowing well that the whole neighbourhood in the asbestos mining would be against them.

The Glamour Boys knocked out Zvishavane side FC Platinum at the quarter-finals stage at the National Sports Stadium a fortnight ago 7-6 on penalties.

Ironically, DeMbare are playing against a team from the Midlands and this should see the whole small mining town extending their support to Chapungu. Waru Waru, under the guidance of John Nyikadzino are enjoying a fine run of form this season and last Saturday they drubbed Buffaloes 4-1 in a league clash, a factor that points to an intriguing clash against Dynamos.

Chapungu defeated log leaders Chicken Inn 5-3 on penalties to book a spot in the last four after the match ended 1-1 in normal time.

Tonderai Ndiraya’s boys are also on a high after their 1-0 triumph over log leaders Chicken Inn at Barbourfields, a result which kept them in contention for the title with six matches remaining in the season.

Allen Tavarwisa as well as Tineyi Chitora have been in great form for Chapungu with a deadly combination upfront. They are sure to give a torrid time to the Dynamos defence of Godknows Murwira, Ocean Mushure, Elisha Muroiwa and Blessing Moyo who are expected to provide cover for young impressive goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva.

Dynamos are more lethal in midfield where Stephen Alimenda, Ronald Chitiyo and Carlos Rusere should create goal scoring opportunities for Rodreck Mutuma and Takesure Chinyama.

Dynamos coach Ndiraya described Chapungu as a tough and physical side saying they will have to work extra hard to win the match.

“It is going to be a difficult match, Chapungu are a strong, physical side and we need to double our effort to win the match and progress to the next round. They knocked the log leaders out and we knocked out the best team at the moment (FC Platinum) so the match should be explosive. We have fans all over the country so we expect a warm reception, they will be out in their numbers with one mission of seeing their team qualify for the final and we are going to work hard to make them happy,’’ said Ndiraya.

However, Dynamos will have to do without the injured Augustine Mbara, Artwell Mukandi, Obey Mwerahari and Farai Mupasiri.
