POLICE in Gwanda have arrested a suspected stock thief who has been on the wanted list for two years for allegedly stealing an ox and a heifer at Thuli. The suspect, Mushe Ndlovu (60) was arrested under the police operation coded “Inkomo ngezikabani/Mombe ndedzani” which started on Friday last week and ended on Wednesday. Matabeleland South police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nkosilathi Sibanda confirmed the arrest.

“We confirm that we arrested Ndlovu whom we have been looking for since 2014. Ndlovu was connected with a stock theft case where he was suspected to have stolen one ox and heifer at Thuli. We had conducted an anti-stock theft operation at Tshanyaugwe area on Friday where we had gathered all their cattle and called for the villagers to come and identify while producing ownership documents. All the cattle were identified except for 13 cattle in which we are calling for farmers from Matabeleland South whom their cattle are missing to come and identify their cattle, they are still at the Tshanyaugwe Police Station,” said Ass Insp Sibanda.
