FORTWELL FC ran riot in a Bulawayo Corporate Social Soccer League match firing eight goals past Elephants with no reply in a game played in Luveve yesterday. David Phiri scored four goals while Tom Muzenda chipped in with a brace and Nyasha Dube and Charles Muponda had a goal apiece. Phiri scored as early as the fifth minute setting the tone for a dominant performance as his team scored four goals in each half in a one-sided game. The impressive Phiri scored in the first half and Dube made it four with a powerful volley four minutes before the break.

The Elephants came stronger in the second half, as they were tight in defense with the likes of Irvine Mhlanga and Lovemore Magumise making sure that they don’t rub salt into their already bleeding wounds, however, that only lasted 10 minutes as Fortwell breached their line of defence when Muzenda made it five.

Fortwell’s coach Andrew Nkiwane was pleased with the result adding he hopes they continue their fine vein of form.

“It was a wonderful game, we were here for maximum points and I’m happy because we got them. The going was tough throughout the match for our opponents; I’m wishing them the best of luck on their next game,” he said.
