Govt to train primary care nurses

THE Ministry of Health and Child Care has started training all primary care nurses in midwifery, in an effort to reduce cases of maternal mortality, Sunday News can reveal.

According to health experts, Zimbabwe is losing eight women a day due to death caused by pregnancy complications.
In an interview, the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr David Parirenyatwa, said they were training the entire nursing complement in rural areas to ensure that all clinics and hospitals in the country had midwives.
