Men complain about how women take long in getting ready for anything, bathing, getting dressed or even wearing makeup.

They might as well stop complaining because most men have started taking long in the bathroom as well, thanks to men grooming. Looking good and feeling hot is not restricted to women only. Men take time to pamper themselves, some to a point where the women get threatened to up their game.

Grooming is important to men as well as they have reputations to maintain, amongst friends, at work and of course with the ladies. Grooming doesn’t necessarily mean shaping and plucking out eyebrows or waxing if you are not fan. Grooming is all about confidence in how you look, being presentable in appearance. People will always judge you on how look no matter how much sense you make when talking.

The following are tips on how men should be taking care of their looks.

Get a good haircut

If you do not have an afro, locks or cornrows then do visit your barber every fortnight (2weeks). Some may prefer to go once a month. It all depends on how fast your hair grows. Unless you are going for the hobo look and you look like J.Cole please do not keep you hair unkempt it doesn’t look good on 80percent of the men. A nice clean haircut will always make you look clean and neat.

Do invest in facial products

Luckily there is a variety of facial products men can choose from. Garnier, Loreal, Nivea only to name a few. Choose a brand that works well for you, the facial wash and moisturiser. It’s not only women who get blemishes and pimples you know. For those with locks or afros can also invest in hair products, such as sprays and hair food.

Find your signature scent

Perfume isn’t supposed to be too loud or obvious. You want people to stop in their tracks and notice for the right reasons.

Women love a man that smells sexy and they will definitely notice and feel your overall presence. Get a scent that goes along with your personality, or choose different scents for different occasions. When you smell bad in most cases people won’t tell you but they will avoid you at all costs. Don’t be that guy.

Do manscape properly

Trimming your private area is not only perfectly acceptable in 2016, it’s polite. Keep things neat and tidy. Do not use the same device you use for trimming your nose hairs or beard.

Keep your beard neat.

This year has been a year of beards, untamed beards to be precise. Unless you’re planning to move out into the wilderness to find yourself, facial hair of any length needs to be tamed and maintained if you want to be taken seriously. You don’t have to spend much on a beard trimmer. Do keep it clean, wash it well and maintain it.

Take good care of your feet

They might not be on show much at this time of year, but a good footcare routine <http://www.esquire.co.uk/style/grooming/4173/man-pedicure/> is still important. Take care of them after a bath or shower (when the skin is softest) using a pumice stone on any dead skin, before lathering a generous amount of moisturiser on. Then when summer rolls back around, you can wear your flip flops and cause an absolute minimal of disgust in others.

Keep nails short

Cutting your nails once a week – preferably after a bath or shower, to soften them and make them easier to trim – is basic.

Treat with a tiny bit of moisturiser every couple of days to smooth things over. Dirty, long fingernails require no explanation as to why they don’t work. If your budget or schedule permits, try a monthly manicure/pedicure to have someone take care of this for you.

Trim the nose hairs

This is something very basic that makes a world of difference. Nose hairs are not a good look on anyone get rid of them. Ear hairs also need to be trimmed, I believe your hearing is improved without the hairs in your ear.

Brush and floss your teeth daily.

It doesn’t matter if your teeth are not perfectly straight and white, but please keep them clean. It is rather unappealing to talk to someone and see built up plaque or food stuck between their teeth. Mouthwash is mandatory, do use it, at most twice a day.

Grooming is a personal thing, some wax instead of shaving their legs, some do pluck out their eyebrows. It all depends on what looks good on you, what you can afford and how you feel about it, wearing a belt that matches with your shoes is not a rule but a lot men do it.

Happy grooming!
