HARVEST House International Church will be hosting this year’s edition of its annual Apostolic/Prophetic Conference from 24 to 27 August in Hall 4 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo.

This year the conference is running under the theme, “Church Planting, Church Growth, The Mega Church and Why You Must Be A Soul Winner.” This is a conference aimed at getting the church to its principal role — that of planting churches and winning souls. Harvest House International will have planted 500 churches worldwide by the end of 2017 and 1 000 churches worldwide by the end of 2020.

In this vein the speakers gracing this year’s conference are aptly qualified to dwell on this theme as their renowned church planters in their own right. Bishop Mosa Sono, of Grace Bible Church in Soweto, South Africa has planted Grace Bible Churches in South Africa. He is very passionate about the local church and, driven by his firm belief that “the church is the hope of the world”. He endeavours to ensure that the church aligns itself with Christ’s mission to preach the gospel to all and to win people to Christ.

Bishop Edwin Morgan Ogoe serves as the head pastor of Lighthouse Chapel’s Bread of Life Cathedral in Adenta, Ghana. He is also the General Superintendent of the Adenta Council, a council made up of over 50 churches. He also serves as an assistant to Bishop Dag Heward-Mills on the Healing Jesus Crusades.

Pastor Bill Vasilakis came to Christ in 1971 and soon after was catapulted into a “Book of Acts” type evangelistic ministry in High Schools and a University. He is the Senior Minister of the Christian Family Centre, a multi-site church that has planted churches and outreaches throughout Australia.

Dr Shingi Munyeza is a well-known businessman and Senior Pastor of Faith Ministries in Harare. Dr Munyeza will bring his understanding and experience of business to many businesspeople and aspiring businesspeople in the business session of the conference. A notable feature of the conference this time around is the “Conference March”.

This event saw thousands of Christians congregating at Harvest House International Headquarters which is located at the corner of George Silundika Street and 13th Avenue. This branch currently hosts eight services every Sunday. They marched from there to the HHI Astra Branch, where five services are held every Sunday, which is located at the Astra building next to the High Court. The march took a brief break and from there proceeded to the HHI Fife Street Branch at the corner of Fife Street and Sixth Avenue. This branch runs 12 services on a Sunday and three more services will soon be added. The Army Band and Drum Majorettes were enlisted to bring the much needed hype to this event. It turned out to be a multi-coloured spectacle indeed as those marching were donning HHI Apostolic/Prophetic Conference wear in an array of colours.

As has become the norm, the conference will be brought to a climax and fitting finale by the eagerly anticipated Clash of Hub Choirs competition. This is a competition where choirs from HHI worldwide showcase their talent as they battle it out for honours. This has been a platform that has seen the raising of notable musicians in the nation who have gone on to record on their own.

A new dimension added to this year’s edition of the competition will be the creation of a “Super Choir” where individuals who excel will be hand-picked by the judges to form a choir that will record its own music. Leading the cast of judges is Lindelani Mkhize of the world-acclaimed Joyous Celebration.

Pastor Charles Charamba of the Fishers of Men, fresh from releasing his own album and Mr Obadiah Mthombeni of the Academy of Music complete the line-up of judges.

The Apostolic/Prophetic Conference, this year, comes at a very special time where Harvest House International has just been awarded the “Christian Leadership Excellence Religious Organisation of the Year Award at the Zimbabwe Leadership Awards. The prestigious Zimbabwe Leadership Awards are the hallmark and premier leadership awards in Zimbabwe. They are a national honour, a celebration of excellence, inspiration and success by Zimbabweans for Zimbabweans.

At the same awards function Bishop Colin Nyathi was awarded the “Christian Leader of the Year Award”. He was also conferred with two honorary doctorates, the first being the Doctor of Theology and Christian Leadership conferred by the International Women’s University and the second being the Doctor of Humane Letters conferred by the International Institute of Philanthropy. These are indeed befitting accolades to a man of unparalleled leadership who has just released 20 titles of his books onto the market.

These awards, to Harvest House International and Bishop Colin Nyathi, come hard on the heels of awards to the Maximized Lifestyle International (MLI) the women’s arm of HHI as well as to Senior Reverend Dr S Nyathi. MLI was recognised as the best “Religious Community Involvement Organization of the Year 2017” at the Christian Business and Leadership Awards while Senior Reverend Dr S Nyathi was recognised as the “Outstanding Religious Leader of the Year 2017” at the Megafest Business Awards. Harvest House International celebrates all these achievements and milestones. Congratulations to Bishop Dr Colin Nyathi and Senior Reverend Dr Sarah Nyathi and indeed to the entire HHI family.

We therefore, extend an invitation to you to join us at this year’s edition of the Apostolic/Prophetic Conference. We hope to see you there as we sit under the ministration of Bishop M Sono, Bishop E M Ogoe, Pastor B Vasilakis as well as Dr S Munyeza.
