THE ZIMBABWE Schools Boys Hockey Association selected two under-19 national teams that will tour Asia and Zambia between 8 August and 18 August at Khumalo Hockey Stadium in Bulawayo yesterday.
The team to Asia would join the under 17 team that was picked a fortnight ago in Harare and they would play five games in Singapore and two in Malaysia, while the representative side to Zambia which is the developmental side of the A team to Asia will play in Lusaka from 8 August to 13 August.

Hilton Zuze, the Head of Delegation to Asia, said they would leave the country on 8 August and return on 18 August. “We will travel with a total of 36 players from the two age groups for the matches in the Asian countries in August. The tour would be part and parcel of the preparations for the upcoming Olympic games in Brazil as we embarking on massive developmental programs for schools and the nation,” he said.  Zuze expressed satisfaction on the level of performance of players at yesterday’s selection meet.

“We had over 30 schools represented here by the five provinces that took part and the level of competition was very impressive,” he said, adding that the team to Zambia will be called the Zimbabwe Schools select.
