The Village Lodge has proven to epitomise an ethnic setting of the rural homestead but at the same time offering the modern traveller the opportunity to experience luxury under thatch and teak. It currently has 46 rooms — all en suite, two bars, three conference venues; the largest taking up to 300 pax.
The simple yet sophisticated rooms have well selected bathrooms and though modern, truly reflect the traditional African setting. Choose from standard, honeymoon or executive suites, furnished with teak antique, under golden thatch decorated with different themes.
The Village Lodge has two eating places, The Main Lodge and The Bonanza Restaurant. The former specialises in Western, traditional and braai menus. The latter — the only one of its kind in Gweru, has been famed for its scrumptious Chinese cuisine. The sizzling dishes, the seafood, the chow mein, the green tea and many more dishes have brought friends, families and the corporate world together to share a delightful and tasty meal.
The Bonanza is the leisure centre located within the lodge and it makes the perfect place to help you define your lifestyle. Treat yourself to Chinese dining where a variety of dishes including sea food are on offer. You also get to enjoy well selected music at the open bar, lounge or in the romantic private rooms. You also have a choice of wide selection of braai meats at the unspoiled natural surroundings
For those planning on hosting conferences, the lodge staff can assist you to deliver cost effective and cutting edge conferences. The Village Lodge offers an excellent choice of flexible conferences and meeting facilities, which are tailored to meet your needs. These range from a small boardroom set up to a large theatre style layout in the purpose built gazebo.
Their conference venue is supported by state-of -the-art audio visual equipment. Spacious parking space is available.
Furthermore, they offer fun team building activities, sundowner cruises, bush dinners, horse riding and many other games at the banks of Whitewaters Dam to enhance your experience.
Under thatch and teak, the gazebos are a perfect dining area for guests to relax and enjoy the exquisite cuisine on warm summer days. Guests can enjoy a romantic night under a star studded African sky. On colder nights guests can warm themselves around a bon fire. Breakfast and dinner are served in buffet style, while lunch is provided as a set menu or a-la-carte.
The lounge or restaurant area is as much for unwinding as it is for fine wining and dining. All the meals are prepared from the freshest selection of vegetables from the resident garden. Skilled chefs augment efforts for the day by mouthwatering freshly cooked meals that cut across the world divide.
Fully stocked bars cater for all tastes, while the wine list has an array of branded quality estates.
