ZIMBABWE is a paradise for tourists. Hornung Park Lodge is an excellent base from which to explore near and far. All kinds of trips can be arranged, from a half- day tour to a week or more in the bush.

The owner-run Hornung Park Lodge was designed with YOU in mind . . . for business visitors it is a secure, quiet retreat away from the meetings and conference rooms. For tourists Hornung Park Lodge is perfect for those who just want to relax in a friendly, peaceful atmosphere while planning their next adventure.

Hornung Park Lodge is a peaceful gem that is hidden away on the outskirts of Bulawayo. If you are in Bulawayo for business or would like to get away for a few days, Hornung Park Lodge is the ideal place for you. Clients are also able to use the swimming pool, the tennis court, braai area, as well as the adjacent golf course, Hornung Park Golf Club.

The thatched cottages are self-contained and designed for two people. Set among tranquil green gardens, each cottage has a comfortable living room with Swedish fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and built in wall safe, and a shady patio overlooking pleasant gardens and lawns. Hair dryers are built-in and there are electrical sockets and adapters for your appliances.

Each of the five thatched cottages are comfortably furnished and there is a swimming pool, all-weather tennis court, private restaurant, bar and lounge area for the exclusive use of guests. Rates include bed and breakfast, and guests can self-cater in their chalet kitchen, or enjoy an optional three-course dinner in a private restaurant.

The lodge owners are a great source of local knowledge. In Bulawayo they can advise you especially when you are not familiar with the city where to shop for curios or African art, visit the interesting (and famous) Natural History Museum, the Railway Museum and National Art Galleryin Bulawayo. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine in this historical City of Kings, which has some of the best weather in Africa.

The dining room is great, as is the breakfast and above all the dinner. The chef has excellent skills. Great food, great sleep, what else to ask for? Well, to be objective, one thing that could be improved is the internet in the rooms.
The bungalows and the main lodge at Hornung Park Lodge are beautifully decorated in African style in the midst of a lovely garden with lots of flowers. Everything is kept clean, nice and safe.

There is a tennis court and a wonderful pool. Everything feels private and individual. The food is great and because of the Austrian owner there also is European touch of things such as the food. The owners are absolutely lovely and helpful. Staying at Hornung Park Lodge feels like staying in paradise at a family member’s house. I enjoyed every minute.
