GROWING land developer and construction company Hawkflight Construction launched its second housing scheme in a high-density suburb at Emthunzini which is located between Nkulumane and Pumula South in Bulawayo on Friday last week.
The occasion, which was marked with pomp and fanfare, was graced by Bulawayo Governor Cde Cain Mathema.
She said the launch of the second phase follows the success of the first phase that saw the construction of 180 houses in Pelandaba.
Through the housing scheme, home-seekers pay US$130 for a two-roomed house, US$190 for a three- roomed and US$203 for a four-roomed house per month for a period not exceeding 12 years.
“There has been an overwhelming support and demand for houses under the scheme to the extent that we are failing to cope. On average we build about 10 houses a day but because of the ever-increasing numbers of clients that flock our offices, we are being forced to build about 20 a day,’’ Mr Ncube said.
He said the company would also consider launching the housing scheme in Plumtree sometime next year. Hawkflight introduced the project late last year and already 50 houses have been built under the scheme of which 85 stands were allocated to them by the local authority as the company made headway to broaden its market.
The company, which is over a decade old, has also won a number of business accolades over the years for its professional and ethical approach to business.
This, said Ms Dlamini, would enable prospective home owners to build houses at their own pace.
