Masvingo Bureau
Close to 1 000 hectares of wheat and winter maize is under threat at Mushandike Irrigation scheme in Charumbira communal lands after the reservoir that used to supply water ran dry.

The upstream Mushandike Dam dried up leaving nearly 2 000 plot-holders facing an uncertain future. The situation has compromised food security in the area and Masvingo City.
Plot-holders at Mu-shandike have already given up on salvaging their crops.
Mushandike Irrigation Scheme Farmers' Trust chairperson, Mr Rodgers Matsikidze, on Tuesday said the situation was precarious.
