| Fort Rixon man in court for attempted murder |

Zandile Sibanda Sunday News Reporter A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been arraigned before the courts for stabbing another man over a misunderstanding on the type of music which was being played on radio while drinking beer in the Fort Rixon area.The accused, Hloniphani Ncube, resides at Village Two Allendale Fort Rixon whereas the complainant Moses Munkwi resides at Village Three Allendale Fort Rixon as well. The accused initially appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Shepherd Munjanja for contravening Section 47 as read with Section 189 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23, attempted murder. The circumstances as narrated by the prosecutor, Mr Malvern Nzombe, are that on 9 June the accused and the complainant were drinking beer at Phiri’s homestead. The court heard that the complainant and the accused had a misunderstanding over the type of music which was being played. They engaged in a fight and the accused person stabbed the complainant with a knife once on the stomach and he sustained a deep cut causing intestines to be exposed. The court heard that the complainant was referred to hospital for medication and the accused was arrested. The accused was remanded in custody to 21 June. |
