Matabeleland excluded in poultry statutory instrument consultations

Harare-based public and private sector participated in the Livestock and Meat Advisory Council’s workshop on the proposed poultry industry development fund regulations on Wednesday. Going through the attendance list, I observed that Matabeleland was not represented. I expected the proposed draft to be circulated to all provinces in Zimbabwe. The popular saying goes: “Something for us without us is not for us’’. That Harare is Zimbabwe is confirmed by such actions.

Cold and wet weather spell devastating to livestock

Livestock and people in some areas were walking up to 30 kilometres to get water to drink. That is why there were wild celebrations at the onset of the rain season especially in some areas in Matabeleland South province. In most cases people do not know the value of what they have until they miss it. We really missed water in this part of the country.
