Going through the attendance list, I observed that Matabeleland was not represented. I expected the proposed draft to be circulated to all provinces in Zimbabwe. THE Department of Agricultural Technical and Extension Services (Agritex) says farmers in Matabeleland region should not get worried over the late coming of the rains as this was being caused by a gradual shift in the rainfall patterns in the region.

Cold and wet weather spell devastating to livestock

Livestock and people in some areas were walking up to 30 kilometres to get water to drink. That is why there were wild celebrations at the onset of the rain season especially in some areas in Matabeleland South province. In most cases people do not know the value of what they have until they miss it. We really missed water in this part of the country.
