SOUTH African actor, dancer and poet, Israel Makoe popularly known as GP Ma Orange will be returning to Zimbabwe after having been exposed to the talent in Plumtree on his visit last year.

The multi-talented artiste will grace a family fun day which will be held at Allen Red Fern during the day and is expected to host an after party at Plumtree High School on 24 December.

This will be the artiste’s second time in Plumtree town coming for the same event, on his last visit last year in August he vowed to make a return and it seems he is a man of his word.

In an interview with Sunday Life, Makoe described his first visit in Plumtree as extraordinary.

“This is not the first time coming to Plumtree. The first time I was there I was overwhelmed by the way the community treated me as I felt like their own they looked at me differently. It is an honour to be coming back to a place where you know you are welcomed and people enjoy your presence,” Makoe said.

“The setup is still going to be the same like the last time I came but this time around I want to get involved and get to know the people because this is a long lasting relationship which is going to last,” he added.

The actor has managed to maintain his relationship going with Plumtree as he recently did a song with two artistes.

“I have kept my relationship with the people back there. I did a song with two local artistes Tsibi and Real Sims those guys are so talented. The song is called “Siyayikhipha siyayifaka” a party song which speaks about money that if you have it, you should spend it. It has been nice getting involved doing their lyrical content,” he said.

“Last time I was in Plumtree I told those guys they have all what it takes to be like Oskido and DJ Fresh because they have all what it takes to get there. The way they have marketed themselves its standard, if they continue they will go far,” he added.

He paid tribute to the Plumtree events promoter, Handsome Sibanda who has went all his way to help make sure that the community gets all the exposure that it can have by hosting such events.

“The way Handsome is doing things the community is surely heading to a brighter future. This has inspired me to do projects in Zimbabwe helping in the artistic industry as I believe that together we can implement the talent that is encompassed by the artistes who lack the exposure. I want to create wealth for them that will benefit them to a much greater extent so I believe that my visit this time is going to be fruitful and bring more positive results,” Makoe said.

Events promoter, Handsome Sibanda said that Israel Makoe will definitely be jetting to Zimbabwe next week for the family fun day and the people are so much looking forward to this one as it is the last event for the year.

“ As our last event as Toundtainment events we have invited Ma Orange to grace our last event for the year 2017 and we are so much looking forward to his presence,” Sibanda said.

Sibanda said inviting Makoe for the second time was a good gesture to do as the actor is passionate about helping Zimbabwean artistes in many ways.
“Israel is passionate about helping Zim artistes break into the South African side of arts so much that he has many projects planned with local artistes.

His life experiences have pushed him in becoming who is today helping other people fight for what they believe to make it big,” he said.

The family fun day aims to boost the tourism in Plumtree so that potential business people and investors will help in making Plumtree town a better place.

This time it’s going to be bigger with more acts from Bulawayo artistes and South African based artistes like Bif Skuad, 2 Deuces, Tony Yayo, BRK and many others will be part of the lineup.-@kayskudzai
