THE Old Mutual Zimbabwe Under-18 left the country yesterday for South Africa where they will participate in the annual Coca-Cola Craven Week as well as Academy Week at St Stithians College in Johannesburg which runs from tomorrow until Saturday.

A send off was held for both teams at St John’s College in Harare at lunchtime yesterday prior to the team’s departure late afternoon. The two sides held their final training camp from last Thursday at Heritage School.

With both teams only in action on Tuesday, they have two days of training and preparing for their respective fixtures. The Scott Gray coached Craven Week team open the tournament with a clash against Leopards while the Academy Week side, under the mentorship of Basil Dingiswayo, they make their debut at the tournament when they take on the Golden Lions XV.

Falcon College flank Jack Charsley was last week named as the captain of the Craven Week team where he is deputised by first centre Mazvitaishe Nyamarebvu of Peterhouse. Loose forward Sean Mupanemunda of Prince Edward School is the leader of the Academy Week side with first centre Sean Maenzanise, also from PE the vice-captain.

Injuries and a withdrawal saw changes being made to both teams. Flyhalf Tabonga Ngonyamo picked up an injury which saw his place in the Craven Week squad being taken up by Leeroy Kagodora. Nathan Tanyanyiwa broke his arm with his slot in the Academy Week side being taken up by James Owuru. Keegan Schultz also withdrew from the Academy Week team, his replacement being Joshua Allardice. With Kagodora going up to the Craven

Week from the Academy Week, Siampunga Sindaza who had been previously named as a non-travelling reserve replaced him.
