THE Highlanders South Africa Supporters Chapter is mobilising Bosso fans based in the neighbouring country to turn out in their number to give support to the Zimbabwe Warriors when they take on Zambia in the Cosafa Cup final at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday afternoon.
Khumbulani Moyo the Highlanders South Africa Supporters Chapter secretary general said they were making transport arrangements for the Bosso fans based in Johannesburg to find their way to Polokwane for the Cosafa Cup final so as to give the Sunday Chidzambwa coached Warriors the best possible support against Chipolopolo.
“The Highlanders South Africa Supporters Chapter has mobilised Zimbabweans around Johannesburg to attend the final between Zimbabwe and Zambia. As a chapter we have requested all our members to support the Warriors in order to pick up their sixth Cosafa Cup title,’’ Moyo said.
Last Sunday, Moyo together with Alexander Maseko, the chapter’s former treasurer were at Peter Mokaba Stadium when the Warriors beat Botswana 3-1 on penalties in the quarterfinals. Zimbabwe went on to overcome Lesotho 3-1 on penalties in the semifinals on Wednesday to book a place in the final.
Moyo said they also got an opportunity to meet with Highlanders executive chairman Kenneth Mhlophe who is Zimbabwe’s head of delegation at the Cosafa Cup which presented them with a chance to share notes.
Zimbabwe are eyeing a record sixth Cosafa Cup while Zambia have been champions of the regional competition four times.
