MDC-T Matabeleland South Senator Sithembile Mlotshwa has died.

Sen Mlotshwa died today after battling with an undisclosed illness for sometime. She was admitted to the United Bulawayo Hospitals at the time of her passing on.

Her daughter Miss Nonhlanhla Mlotshwa confirmed her death.

“Yes she passed away today, she had been ill for quite a long time. She was admitted yesterday and eventually passed on today,” she said.

No arrangements have been made as of yet.

Mlotshwa’s political history dates back to as far as 1978, where she was a member of Zapu between 1978 and 1985. She then joined MDC in 2000.

She did her primary education at Sun Yet Sen, Tshelanyemba, Mahetshe all in Kezi and moved to Masuku Primary in Bulawayo.

She then did her secondary education at Luveve High School and Ekusileni Mission in Filabusi.

Mlotshwa was an outspoken politician, who was well known for her stance in the fight against HIV and Aids  where she was once reported saying that the only way to curb the virus among married people was by injecting husbands with an “immobiliser” to reduce their sexual desire.

She is also on record for recommending prisoners be given sex toys to prevent cases of homosexuality.
