TWO of Bulawayo’s fast-rising underground rappers and possess the weirdest of stage names are out to change the game.
With an insatiable yearning to get to the top, the duo recently dropped a nine- track mixtape titled Hook’Nay Mukoosha (huku yeku musha).
The duo born 24 years ago, Mzwakhiwe Ngwenya (Indigo Saint) and Tapiwa Kamusoka (Kamzthxpxpe), seek to take over the industry with their electrifying bars and rhymes.
In an interview, they said they had been releasing lots of music since last year when they ventured into the industry.
“We are not really a duo but we do a lot of collaborations. I ventured into the industry last year and have managed to perform at Horizon, Club 263 and the Art Gallery to mention but a few places,” said Kamzthxpxpe.
Hailing from Sauerstown suburb the two can easily pass as rappers from their appearance.
“We do our recordings at home, my bedroom is my studio. This mixtape took us about three weeks to produce and it has a fusion of beats from America, South Africa and right here the City of Kings,” said Kamzthxpxpe.
He added that he drew his inspiration from things that happen in his life.
“I derive my inspiration from detailed events that transpire in my life. And of course rappers like Wiz Khalifa and our very own legendary Oliver Mtukudzi,” added Kamzthxpxpe.
Indigo Saint said he had been in the industry for a few years now and has been trying to make a name.
“Our musical style is different. We want to produce projects that will identify with us and will be appealing to all. So far we have 30 more songs that we released since November last year,” said Indigo Saint.
He added that they were active social media users and used it as a major platform to distribute their music.
“We use social media because some stations don’t really fancy our music, not that there is anything wrong with it. But now since there is Skyz Metro FM it is much better for us as Bulawayo artistes to have our music played on radio,” he said.
