LOVELY, multi-talented TV and radio personality-cum-musician, Langelihle Ndlovu, warmly known as Langa, is back in the game with two banging singles, after a year-long sabbatical.

Langa, a new mom, has been shying away from the glitz and glamour of the showbiz industry, made her grand return to the industry last weekend, after premiering her latest singles at the Fashion Designers Expo (Fashion Fights Cancer) held at the Nesbitt Castle in Bulawayo.

Still possessing a voice so seductive and mesmerising that could shake the heavens, Langa proved that she was still at the top of her game.

“Langa took a long sabbatical to concentrate on being a mother to a handsome baby boy . . . I’m back in the industry debuting post-motherhood, and I will be manning the red carpet at the first ever Miss Africa Zimbabwe 2016,” she told Sunday Life.

Langa who needs no introduction in the showbiz and possesses an impressive body of work — TV and radio — debuted her singles, which she said would be feature tracks on her upcoming album.

“I’m back doing my music and I’m currently in the studio with a couple of amazing artistes from Bulawayo and Harare.

‘‘My album is set to be released at the end of October this year, with the hits Mpilo yam, Uthandiwe as well as new bangers, Ngize ngomsebenzi and Ngiyahamba just to name a few,” she said.

She also revealed that she would also feature on a new production set to be screened soon.

“I’m back and I have been active. There are several projects that I’m involved in at the moment and they are testimony to who and what I am. A Bulawayo girl representing my city,” she said.

Langa burst into the showbiz industry not so long ago and made quite an impression on the hearts of many.

“I am a musician by heart and artiste by birth. So, what most people know me for is music as that is how I broke through.

With the exposure to the entertainment industry through music I realised there was a whole lot more I could do,” she said.

Her first musical single was released in 2013.

“In 2013, I realised my first single. The reception was great and that is how I became Langa. I then ventured into other things and I got discovered by a guy called Jerry Makawa who is a producer in Harare and next thing I was on TV presenting on a show called Zimbabwe Inestayira. That put me on a platform for people to connect the voice and the visual.

“And that was the time I got involved more in the music industry. I had a lot of encounters with people in the broadcasting industry. This was due to the notoriety I had gained through Impilo Yami, and I went for a whole lot of interviews. What made the StarFM thing happen was after coming from a radio personality interview with StarFM I was called back by the secretary after having said my goodbyes.

Admire Taderera had requested to see me. So Comfort Mbofana took me to him and he complimented me, telling me I sounded good. I jokingly said if ever they had a post they should let me know. From then we started that conversation and a couple of months later I got a call from Comfort Mbofana saying they wanted a Bulawayo representative on ground and I won’t lie first time I turned him down because of school pressure but when that was over I decided to follow my dream regardless of the fact that I hold a BSC Hons Political Science Degree,” she said.
