Highlanders forward Newman Sianchali, who finally broke his goal dark  on Sunday when the Bulawayo giants pummeled visiting Shabanie Mine 3-1 at Barbourfields Stadium, has dedicated his first goal to his late father Julius Junza Sianchali.

“Thank you to the Almighty God for opening the doors for me. I would like to thank all the Highlanders fans, the coaches and executive members for their support.

I dedicate this goal to my late father Julius Junza Sianchali. I will always remember him,” said the Binga bred footie star who is on loan to Bosso from Southern Region Division
One side Talen Vision.

After Bosso temporarily trailed Shabanie Mine 1-0 courtesy of a Donald Makuwe wonder strike in the 12th minute, evergreen national team defender Peter Mudhuwa leveled the scores with a cheeky 40th minute back heel.

Thereafter, Sianchali, who had found the going tough after he went for six games without finding the back of the net, opened fire to register his name on the score sheet in the 55th minute to give the Bulawayo giants a deserved lead before Brian Banda’s stinger saw Bosso emerge  with  3-1 victory over the miners.

While goals seemed to elude Sianchali, a former Hwange, Bantu Rovers and Bulawayo City striker, he continued to receive the backing of the Madinda Ndlovu led Bosso technical team which is working on a project that has recently evoked the memories of yesteryear Bosso squads that conquered all and sundry in the local football circles.

Sianchali was taken on board early this year in Bosso’s attempt to recruit an experienced striker to lead their frontline. Sianchali played for Bantu Rovers in the first half of the 2017 season before jumping ship to help Bulawayo City avoid Premiership relegation.

He leads the Bosso front line alongside club returnee Ozias Zibande,Gabriel Nyoni and young Thabo Lunga.
