A LOCAL rap group — TearDream Kings has been accused of creating a fake K.O Facebook page, claiming to be affiliated to his Cash Time business venture and getting fans to believe that they would be part of the performing acts at the much anticipated Best of Both Worlds show, featuring Winky D to be held on 29 April.

A promoter of the show Terminator Makoni of @ Kings Entertainment said it was worrying that there were such unscrupulous people.

“After questioning them they quickly shut down the page. Yesterday I asked one of them, one Bret Rammz on Twitter and he said he didn’t have a Facebook account but had a page. He pretended to be surprised about the issue saying that someone may have created the account and put their hotline number as well,” he said.

Makoni said he received a request from the K.O account then immediately one from Bret Rammz.

“There is no way it was coincidence. They have been calling and begging for a free slot at the show and we will not be giving them, as they are devious,” said Makoni.

However, the group posted on their page that they would not be performing at the show because of “monetary issues”.

“Wassp Fam Please Note Tht We Are No Longer Performing at The KO WINKY DEE Show on the #29ofApril,” they posted.

Bret Rammz could however, not be reached for comment on the issue, as his number was continuously unavailable.

The show is being held by award winning entertainment promotion agency 2 Kings in Conjunction with Cavendish Lyold Zimbabwe and is hash tagged get off the grid party.

Tickets for the show have been pegged at $10 and will be available at every Coloursel shop in the country.

“We will be giving away tickets to lucky winners and there will be more in store on the day of the show where we have partnered with K.O to give away and sell some souvenirs such as t-shirts, caps, hats and hand bands,” said Makoni.

Ntokozo Mdluli, popularly known by his stage name, K.O, is a South African rapper who rose to prominence with the group Teargas after releasing their critically acclaimed debut album K’shubile K’bovu in 2006, under Electromode Music.

Teargas, which then had three members, K.O, Ntukza and Ma-E, later released three other albums titled, Wafa Wafa (2008), Dark or Blue (2009) and Number Number (2012) (stylised as Num8er Num8er) which were all commercially successful. K.O co-runs a music and entertainment company called Cashtime Life.
