TALENTED gospel musician Michael “Minister” Mahendere is set for a live DVD album recording slated on 18 November at 7 Arts theatre in Harare.

The DVD albums will carry two volumes titled Classical Worship and Getting personal with God Volume Three. Each will carry 10 tracks.

“Getting personal with God Three came to me in 2007 as the Holy Spirit was inspiring me to write songs about Him. So the word of God is my inspiration.

By listening to the messages preached by my spiritual father Prophet Makandiwa I then began to write songs in this particular album,” Mahendere said.

“Classical Worship has been inspired by my old song Makanaka Jesu which has become a world hit. We are basically using the same grace that God gave us to bring such songs with a different feel and touch just to make sure everyone is blessed,” he added.

The live recording will feature multiple award-winning gospel musician Loyiso Bala in the song “Chiiko”. He is set to jet in for the live recording next week.

“We have one of the finest musicians in South Africa, Loyiso Bala who will perform two songs on the day together, Chiiko and Believe. I met Bala in 2015 when he came for the Permican music awards and he is an amazing person to work with and mature in music. He has confirmed his coming to the country for this special occasion,” Mahendere said.

Mahendere added that there will be local artistes who will feature on some tracks.

“I have songs which I collaborated with a brother from Masvingo, Welcome Nhariswa whom together we will do a song called Ndiye Mwari. Also featuring is my brother Amos Mahendere on a song Makomborero and finally my beautiful wife Vimbai Mahendere. I look forward to this day because God will move and do all the work,” he said.

Mahendere said the response from people has been overwhelming. Mahendere has three albums to his name.
