IN a suspected ritual killing, a man from Lower Gweru was killed in cold blood and had his manhood cut off among other body parts.

The body of Ngwizi Sibanda of Mkhombo Village under Chief Mkoba was found in a decomposing state near Gweru River.

Headman Lugwalo told Sunday News that Sibanda had been missing for two weeks.

“Sibanda had been missing for close to two weeks when a herdboy stumbled upon the decomposing body last week on Wednesday. Sibanda’s relatives were called and they discovered that his manhood was missing together with his tongue,” said Headman Lugwalo.

The matter has caused panic in the village, he said.

Sibanda who was employed at Bata Shoe Company, was last seen at a Makepesi Business Centre where he was attending a birthday party for a local woman only identified as Magama.

“This incident has frightened a lot of people. A lot of weird incidents happen in the village but nothing of this magnitude has ever happened. We no longer feel safe in this village. The police are still investigating the case and we hope that they will get to the bottom of this,” said Headman Lugwalo.

Sibanda has since been buried. Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko could not be drawn to comment on the issue.
