THE Government should locate and solve challenges that triggered recent price increases and hoarding of products by consumers. The price of most basic commodities notably cooking oil have gone up which forced a number of people to predict a shortage of the commodity on the market. However, the Oil Expressers Association of Zimbabwe said despite constrained availability of foreign currency to import essential raw materials, there was no notable or impending shortage for normal consumption.
INDUSTRIALS
The Industrial Index closed the week at an all time high of 418.39 points after gaining 4.49 points (1,08 percent). Insurance giant Old Mutual gained a significant $0,8786 to end at $9,1929, PPC was up $0,2375 to $1,4350 while British American Tobacco advanced by $0,2000 to settle at $30,2500. SeedCo went up by $0,0750 to close at $2,8048, ZB Financial Holdings put on $0,0500 to trade at $0,3400 and Hippo closed at $1,4000 following a $0,0300 increase.
Larfarge came off $0,0800 to close at $0,6200, Delta decreased by $0,0354 to $2,7502 while Barclays shed $0,0041 to trade at $0,0660. Padenga was $0,0013 weaker at $0,9000.
Week on week Industrial index rallied 52.31 points (14,29 percent).
MININGS
The Mining index gained 14.09 points (12,98 percent) to end at 122.57 points following a $0,1000 jump in RioZim to settle at $1,0000 and Bindura improved by $0,0080 to $0,0500. Falgold and Hwange remained unchanged at $0,0200 and $0,0374 respectively.
Week on week Mining index advanced by 22.90 points (22,98 percent).
