Market report: Govt to extend amnesty measures on outstanding taxes

GOVERNMENT will extend amnesty measures on outstanding taxes that were accrued prior to 1 December 2017. Presenting his 2018 National Budget in Parliament yesterday, Minister Chinamasa proposed an amnesty for interest and penalties on outstanding taxes accrued prior to 1 December 2017 for taxpayers who come forward and settle their obligations within the period ending 30 June 2018.

INDUSTRIALS
The Industrial Index closed the week lower at 335.97 points after losing 6.84 points (2,00 percent). British American Tobacco shed $0,8152 to close at $36,0600, added $0,0276 Econet dropped $0,0560 to $1,0403 while Delta eased $0,0479 to settle at $1,5146. Old Mutual came off $0,0437 to end at $4,7563 and Dairiboard was down $0,0276 to close at $0,1120.

Trading in the positive territory; SeedCo put on $0,0061 to trade at $2,0900, NMB Holdings Limited was up $0,0060 to $0,0960 while Zimre Holdings Limited advanced by $0,0036 to close at $0,0216. PPC added $0,0024 to end at $1,2525 and Axia went up by $0,0015 to close at $0,1700.

Week on week Industrial index went down by 38.00 points (10,16 percent).

MINING INDEX
The Mining index was steady at 132.79 points. Bindura, Falgold, Hwange and Riozim remained unchanged at previous price levels at $0,0430, $0,0380, $0,0220 and $1,2000 respectively.

Week on week Mining index gained 5.93 points (4,67percent).
