AFTER he promised to venture into music last year, Marshal Chiza has lived up to his promise by dropping his debut single titled I am Billionaire.
The hip-hop single which was launched last Monday comes as a brand new form of motivational ‘‘speaking’’ that has been introduced into the Zimbabwean sphere taking motivation to another level.
Speaking in an interview with Sunday Life, Chiza said the song was done in an effort to share the positive and building messages of motivational speaking to an even broader and diverse audience.
“The message behind the song is to encourage and make people believe in themselves. Some of the lyric content in the song speaks for itself as it seeks to motivate people to have the capacity to change their lives at any day, just the decisions that we take determine what we want to be in life and I have offered people pure motivation,” Chiza said.
Asked why he decided to venture into music, he said his motivation came from the current generation which was more into music than reading.
“I’m not really a singer per se but I have come to realise that in order to get a fish in a dam you need to go with a worm as we are now living in a generation where most people are attracted more to music and have lost the reading culture, hence motivating people through music,” he said.
Chiza described his fresh hit as a lesson for other artistes who have often made music just for the fun of it.
“I’m sure that this track will also teach other artistes that music is not about ‘just’ singing but at the end of the day should leave the listener touched, inspired and motivated,” he said.
The young motivational speaker and author said he has been receiving a lot of support from local artistes such as Bhutisi and Boss Kheda of PO BOX and Seh Calaz and as well on international platforms.
The single has already hit the new established radio station Khulumani FM on the day of release which has so far received an overwhelming response from listeners. -@kayskudzai
