AN exciting match is in store at Mbembesi Grounds in Insiza this afternoon when log leaders Mbembesi meet Dekezi in a Godlwayo South Soccer League (GSSL) encounter.

Defending champions Mbembesi are yet to taste defeat with four wins from the same number of matches played so far since the start of the league last month.

The Fidelis Mudzingwa-coached Mbembesi have scored 14 goals in the four matches they have played so far while their defence has only been breached once. Skipper Nkosilathi “Madinda” Tshili has been outstanding so far for Mbembesi.

Dekezi, runners up from last season are fourth on the log with six points secured from two wins while they have tasted defeat once. George Ndlovu has stood out so far for Dekezi in the three matches they have played.

GSSL board chairman Bhekimpilo Sithole said the fixture between Mbembesi and Dekezi promises to be exciting since it involves teams that were in the top two last season.

“We have an electric game in the Godlwayo South Soccer League, Mbembesi versus Dekezi at Mbembesi Grounds. Mbembesi have won all their four games so Dekezi have a point to prove.

All soccer loving people of Godlwayo will be at Mbembesi to see the match,’’ Sithole said.

Last month, sponsors of the 13-team league, Bulawayo-based businessman Sithole sponsors the GSSL together with the South Africa domiciled Kossam Mavuna Ndlovu and Zibusiso Majankwe Ncube announced that they will be upping incentives that will be given to the teams at the end of the season.
