JAMAICA based Zimbabwean rapper MC Chita, has announced that he has also ventured into writing, as he is working on a drama novel that will be released soon.
Born Chitarisiro Chiketa, MC Chita said the novel will be titled The Sangoma murders is his first attempt to give written word, since he has been using hip-hop as a platform to express himself.

The 32 year old rapper said he grew an interest in writing after reading some interesting novels, recently.
“I decided to upgrade my brand as an artist through by trying my hand at writing. In this novel I seek to express myself through writing for a change,” he said.

The two time Zim hip-hop award winner went on to reveal that he was working on his sixth album called I Chitarisiro will be released at the end of the year and will be launched in Zimbabwe and South Africa.

“I named this album I Chitarisiro, which clearly means it is a description of who I am then I  themed it we shall overcome, meaning once victory is made one can finally realize their goal,” said Chiketa.

The album also features various artistes such as Bulawayo’s upcoming musician Swiska el.capitan and Pauline from Mafriq.

“The album is very much inspired by my life and the trials and tribulations I have faced, especially of late. It contains some tracks that will grab people’s attention just like Dandaro did,” he said.

MC Chita made his first appearance in 2003 on Brown Sugar’s album Running Laps.
He then went on to build a name for himself in the industry, after releasing projects such as Destination Reality in 2004, followed by the release of hits such as 263-4: The Hustle, The Struggle and The Life in years that followed.

MC Chita has worked with personalities from various countries such as Canada, USA, South Africa and Zambia.
