OTIS Fraser’s sister, Chantal Fraser (28) has decided to follow the family’s musical tradition as she dropped her first single track on Friday.
Chantal Fraser who is a full time clothing designer comes from a family of music fanatics, but for the past eight years has been focusing on her designing career and her clothing label Chante Clothing.
Inspired by her strong family musical background Fraser said she has been singing for a while, but has decided to record her first single Better Than Yesterday.
“Music is something that runs in my family’s blood. My parents used to own a band when we were young. I guess that’s where I caught the music bug.
Actually, I have been singing for quite longer than I have been designing clothes. All my siblings are actually into music, even my brother who is in UK is also a disc jockey,” said Fraser.
The single track Better Than Yesterday featuring Love and House is a social commentary piece which focuses on motivating people when in challenging situations.
“The single track is more of a motivational song which challenges people not to give up easily and tackle their challenges head on. In such trying times people have to just keep on moving with the thought that tomorrow may be a better day. The track inspired me first and I have decided to breathe life into it and share the song with the rest of Zimbabwe,” she said.
Setting her first step on commercial music, Fraser added that the single track was a precursor to an album she is working on.
“Just like fashion designing, music is something that I am passionate about. The single track won’t be my last effort on music as I am working on an album which is in the pipeline,” she said.
