RAHMAN Kutsanzira’s football career can best be described as that of a nomad who has wandered 11 years to finally find his proverbial Canaan at FC Platinum.

The midfield veteran has previously played for Highlanders and CAPS United, in search of Zimbabwe premier soccer’s holy grail — the league title.

“I’m happy that I have finally got the championship medal. It has been a massive 11-year hunt for me,” said the ecstatic Lobengula West-bred footballer.

“This means a lot for me and I’m very much grateful to my family, teammates and members of the technical team at FC Platinum,” he added.

He was on top of his game for Pure Platinum Play, providing a number of assists to fellow teammates that included reigning Soccer Star of the Year Rodwell Chinyengetere, a prolific goal hunter with 17 goals to his credit in the current season.

Early this year, the erstwhile Bosso vice-captain bit the bullet to leave the Bulawayo giants to join 2017 league champions FC Platinum.

The 29-year-old linkman joined FC Platinum on a two-year contract and was immediately registered by the Zvishavane-based club for the Confederation of African Football Champions League.

“It was a very hard decision parting ways with Highlanders because it was my childhood dream to be part of the club.

“It is a big club in the country, widely known and respected, it was an honour to serve and lead it,’’ Kutsanzira said.

The creative midfielder revealed that hard as it was to leave Highlanders, the tough call had to be made.

“At the end of the day it is football, after weighing the options I made a decision to move and I felt it was the right time,’’ he said.

On why he turned his back on Highlanders for the second time in his career, Kutsanzira was quick to finger his persistent hunger for new challenges as his biggest motivation.

Kutsanzira once left Bosso for Caps United.

“I saw joining FC Platinum as an opportunity to be seized and a chance to develop as a player, while exploring other avenues,’’ he said.

The player who has an impeccable passing ability, skill and a strong work ethic feels he is ready for his next African Safari adventure at FC Platinum.
