NEDLAC Enterprises Private Limited, a South African company that specialises in the supply of mining and industrial equipment, automation spares, power transmission and material handling, has heeded the call to invest in Zimbabwe by setting up shop in Bulawayo.
In an interview NEDLAC Enterprises director, Mr Prince Abraham, said the Bulawayo branch will allow the company to competently provide its range of services to its growing list of Zimbabwean clients.

“Bulawayo has been the heart of the Zimbabwe industrial activity and we believe it is set for renewed growth so we could not miss the opportunity. The new dispensation has promised the resurrection of the industry in Bulawayo and we believe that will happen. We saw it wise to set up a base in Bulawayo so that we help the city shine again. We will look to support mining and industrial companies in Zimbabwe. This is an exciting time for us as we are focused on leading a wealth franchise in Zimbabwe.

“Our services are largely for mining and industry so despite the depressed economy we saw it fit to come to Zimbabwe to help the companies that are operational. We opened our Zimbabwean office last month in September but we have been servicing cement plants and mines here in Zimbabwe from South Africa to ensure they have spares to keep on operating. But we have seen it fit to do it from home,” said Mr Abraham.

NEDLAC Enterprise opened its Bulawayo branch last month, but has been aggressively marketing its services throughout the country.

“NEDLAC Enterprises is registered in Zimbabwe and South Africa, it specialises in industrial, electrical, mining, boiler spares, hardware, safety tools and general industrial supplies. But I consider us Zimbabwean because I am Zimbabwean regardless of the fact that we founded the company in South Africa. The company was born to fill the gap in the critical supply of spares to the industry, our main focus is the provision of automotive, mining and industrial raw materials and consumables to all who require our services in Zimbabwe,” Mr Abraham said.

Mr Abraham said they had selected Bulawayo as an international operations base to expand throughout Southern Africa.

“Our aim is to help our clients to source goods and achieve superior returns on investments, this is achievable through our unequalled sales support network and competitive prices. We have a buying house in Johannesburg that enables us to deliver goods on time especially on breakdown. We aim to be the preferred supplier of raw materials and consumables to all the reputable manufacturing and mining houses in Africa as well as automotive workshops. Our established links with a wide network of suppliers guarantee a timely supply of quality materials and components at very competitive prices.

“We see Bulawayo as more than the industrial hub of Zimbabwe. It will be our base of operations to expand to the rest of Southern Africa, we will be building up a network of distributors in all countries in Sadc to address potential markets outside Sadc. There are hundreds of potential customers outside Sadc in a fragmented market, and it’s a potential that we can tap into. We aim to reach out to those markets in the long run.
