I would like to say congratulations to Norman Mapeza and his technical staff for winning the 2018 league championship for the second year running and commend the FC Platinum executive for a sound administration.

The success type personality is composed of

– S — Sense of direction

-U — Understanding

– C —  Courage

-C — Charity

-E — Esteem

-S — Self-confidence

I will pick self-confidence. Confidence is built upon an experience of success.

When we first begin any undertaking we are likely to have little confidence because we have not learnt from experience that we can succeed.

This is true, learning to ride a bicycle,  speaking in public, it is literally true, success breeds success and it can be used as a stepping stone to a greater one.

Managers of boxers are very careful to match them carefully so they can have graduated series of successful experiences, the same techniques, starting  gradually and experiencing success we can at first find on a small scale. Another important technique is the habit of remembering past success and forgetting failures.

This is the way both an electronic computer and human brain are supposed to operate. If we have to achieve success in our football lets implement the things I just wrote. There is no short-cut to success.

Let’s learn from Ghana national team, they had 14 Under-23 players in the Ghana 2014 competition, they even reached the final.

Now you can see success in future competitions. Can we as Zimbabwe say we have a good future ahead?

Attitude: The point  that I want to make is  coaches can bring about an improvement in attitude that represents the biggest and quickest  source of improvement at either individual or team level.

No amount of coaching will ever compensate for a poor attitude on the part of a player, but more and more players are motivated by the desire to be the best they can be, rather than simply better than anyone else.

This new player views the opponent as an enemy to be defeated at all costs, but as a partner sharing a goal in a way that prompts both of them to do their very best.

This demonstrates that winning is an attitude based on learning from the past and living in the present.

Chicken Inn vs Black Rhinos:  League  game, Luveve (03/11/2018)

To be honest this was the worst performance   I have seen Chicken Inn displaying this season. Both teams played as if it was the start of the  season.

They struggled with combination play with no three complete passes  by both teams for the entire game. A draw was the fairest result.

Highlanders FC vs Harare City (BF)

Highlanders’ way of playing displayed in the first half,  where they produced a sensational  strike, a block buster of a goal outside the box by Tinashe Makanda in the 24th minute showed they really wanted to win the match and eventually got three points after beating the Harare side 2-1.

The second goal came from Ariel Sibanda after Makanda was clumsily tackled by a City defender to give Bosso a penalty which was converted by the goalkeeper who showed his team mates how it is done after Bosso had missed penalties in about three previous games.
