IN our relationship with the Lord it is important for me to get back to the three things that are very important to a believer’s life that I have referred to before. Without fail the Holy Spirit and your assignment play a key part. Further, it is your seed that is your link to the future.

The Holy Spirit and your assignment are key to you in the present but your seed links you to a harvest in the future. The present is too short, the past is long and should not limit your actions in the present and in the future. The seed is the action you make in the present that has a value that determines your harvest or reward in the future. That is where it becomes important for us to discuss on this column.

Noah offered a sacrifice after the flood and the words of the Lord in response to the aroma that rose to Him were, “. . . as long as the earth remains seedtime and harvest . . .  will remain!” (Genesis 8:22) Seedtime is an important time in a believer’s life.

The seed is critical to your life.

If you want to prosper, then pay your tithes and give offerings. If you want to walk in divine health, then pray for the sick. If you want to build a home, then first help build the house of God. If you need your unsaved loved one to be saved begin sharing the gospel with someone. Every seed you sow will produce a harvest after its own kind. 1Corinthians 12:7 and 2 Corinthians 9:10 say “God always gives gifts to the giver and SEED to the SOWER”. If your hands become sticky, God cannot give you. You should give in order to receive.

Let me just deal with four types of seed that should be prominent in your life. I dare say you cannot live without these seeds.

In the gospel of Luke 8:11 we read, “The seed is the word of God” . . . ‘‘God’s word is spirit and life says John 6:63. The ‘seed of the word of God’ has life in it. Sow seeds of the Word of God in your hearts. And you will certainly reap great outcomes. David says, “I have hidden Your Word in my heart”.

Do you have the Word of God in your heart? Speak the Word of God into your own life. Every seed sown in your heart will release life into your spirit.

Sow seeds of faith, healing, prosperity into your hearts every day and you will see God moving in your own life.

Secondly tear-filled prayers are seeds. That is why Psalms 126:5, 6 categorically states that, “Those who sow in tears, Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtlessly come again with rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves with him.”

Jeremiah prays in Jeremiah 9:1 “. . . Oh that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears that I might weep day and night for my people.” He knew the outcome of prayer and especially tearful prayer.

Do not despise those times when you pray in deep manner, with tears, pain and fasting at times. The answers you receive are awesome.

Our God is a God who sees the tears of His people and extends the life of people. God extended the life of King Hezekiah who was sick and near death. 2 Kings 20:5 declares; I have seen your tears and heard your prayers; surely I will heal you. David says in Ps 56:8 . . . Put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? Jesus said to the women who were weeping in Luke 23:28 . . . “Weep not for me but for yourselves and for your children.”

Tears that you sow in his presence are seeds that will doubtlessly bring results. God is looking for people who will cry for the land. They are countless perishing each day without knowing God. Do you have tears in your eyes for the salvation of mankind? God is looking for someone who will stand in the gap. Will you be one?

Thirdly one realises that tithes and offerings are seeds. The Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:5-7 “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” God loves a cheerful giver Luke 6:38 says, “give and it shall be given to you: good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over shall men put in your bosom”. Do you want God to pour out His blessing on you so that you will not have room enough to hold it? Then, bring the tithes into God’s store house.

Lastly one finds the tough saying of John 12:24 — “Most assuredly, I say unto you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain”. The ultimate seed that you can plant is dying to yourself. Without that you cannot bring life to others. Life is locked in the seed but that life is released when your flesh will die your old self will die.

Our God is a God of Harvest. He will multiply the seeds which you have sown.

My prayer for you today is 2 Corinthians 9:10 which says . . . God will multiply the seeds you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. Shalom!
