ZANU-PF National Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Simon Khaya Moyo has said there will be no re-runs for primary elections in Matabeleland South, adding that party supporters should endorse candidates that were elected to represent the party in the forthcoming elections.

Cde Khaya Moyo, who is also the party candidate for Bulilima-Mangwe Senatorial seat, said this while addressing Zanu-PF supporters at Ingwizi Growth Point in Mangwe District yesterday.

“The primary elections were not a contest within the party, nobody from the party lost. As a party we should acknowledge that we won as a unit. Let us embrace the candidates we have chosen and support them. It is quite unfortunate our primaries in various provinces were flawed with various issues but we as Bulilima and Mangwe districts, in Matabeleland South Province, are saying the outcome we received is the one we agree with. In fact there will be no re-runs the whole of Matabeleland South.

I have also been informed by the commissariat that there will be no re-runs anymore in most constituencies countrywide although there might be one or two cases,” he said.

Cde Khaya Moyo said Zanu-PF supporters should be familiar with the party manifesto which is now readily available at most party offices countrywide.

“The party manifesto has been released and is available. As we see that there is a huge list of candidates vying for the presidential post we need to ensure that we as a party vote for our candidate and that is Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa. Let us not have spoilt papers in our elections and educate ourselves wisely and vote accordingly. Registered voters should go and check if they are registered,” he said.

Cde Khaya Moyo urged all party members to behave accordingly and avoid being involved in political shenanigans.

“Let us respect one another and maintain stability within the party, let us adopt a single unit mentality and not have members behaving as if they own this party. Our elected candidates are Cdes Obedingwa Mguni, who will be standing in Mangwe, Nqobizitha Ndlovu standing in Bulilima East and Dingumuzi Phuti for Bulilima West. These are the candidates you voted for and should rally behind them,” he said.

Cde Khaya Moyo also said as Minister of Energy and Power Development, he would work towards having the province electrified, with the priority areas being schools, clinics and leaders’ homes.

“I will make it a mandate to have our schools, clinics and homes electrified. There are various projects coming up, women and the youth oriented. Let us rebuild our country and stop bickering within ourselves. Since you all know your candidates let us go flat out to campaign for them and vote them into Parliament. We have already begun campaigning and all necessary equipment is available,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.
