ALTHOUGH Tsholotsho FC could not survive the chop after swimming for too long in the murky waters of relegation, stylish midfielder Ayanda “Mzambia” Ncube has vowed to play his last game in the top tier for pride.

They saw their fate being sealed as outgoers of the Castle Lager PSL, after losing to Chicken Inn by a goal to nil on match day 31. Tsholotsho FC is now left with two league matches away to Triangle FC and they complete this season with a date Black Rhinos.

Ncube, who turned out for Tsholotsho FC since 2012 under the mentorship of gaffer Lizwe Sweswe when they were playing in the second division league, climbed the ladder of success in his career at the club.

Speaking to Sunday News Sport Ncube said he aims at playing his last games for honour even though they are faced with the prospect of playing in the Southern Region Division One league next year.

“It is sad that the players will part ways for other teams in premiership, since the team is facing relegation because the players had started knowing each other well and understanding each other’s style of play. However, I am looking forward to restore the pride and dignity of team through great performances,” Mzambia said.

“We are rallying behind each other as a team and we will not let our exit in the premiership dampen our spirits in the last remaining games because we want to prove our worth as individuals in the league,” he added.

Filled with uncertainty is Ncube’s future in the premier league as he may go down with Tsholotsho FC to play in the Southern Region Division One side next season. However, he said he is confident of making a return in the premiership again after a three year run in the Castle lager PSL with Tsholotsho FC.

He showed interest in football at a tender age and developed his dribbling skills during his early years of his career. Ncube played for the Highlanders FC Under-13, 15 and 18, Division Two side and Bessessa Academy before joining Tsholotsho FC. Mzambia then joined Bessessa Academy team mates Thandolwenkosi Ncube and Butholezwe Ncube at Tsholotsho FC in 2012.

Ncube did his primary education at JW Mthimkhulu Primary School and he completed his O-level studies in 2009 at Masotsha High School after doing his form three at Milton High School.

During the early years of his career Mzambia was affectionately known by his peers as “Scara” a nickname given to him because of his ability to mesmerise opponents with his dazzling footwork and great skills as the late South African talented Emmanuel Asanda “Scara” Ngobese. — @ J_sihwa
