LAST Thursday award winning South African songstress Zahara was subjected to being harangued on social media by fans and social media trolls, after sharing a picture of herself in a semi-nude outfit.

It only took a matter of minutes for her to be attacked and body shamed on her Instagram page.

In an interview in South Africa, Zahara said her “haters” were just jealous of her weight loss.

“I was watching them saying all kinds of things about me and it doesn’t worry me because I know that the people who are hating on me are those who have bad bodies and are jealous that I have lost weight,” she said.

She added that she doesn’t “talk back to people,” instead she went and “opened their pages” and she saw that “they feed their children burgers and junk food. Please people, teach your children to be healthy and feed them vegetables.”

The singer also said that “it’s sad that so many of the people who judged me are women. It should not be like that.”

Zahara has been on a weight loss mission since 2016, where she has been hitting the gym and watching her diet.

Despite the backlash, the country girl singer indeed looks like a completely different woman.

She once spoke about her weight loss transformation, where she stated that it was all about believing in oneself.

She said: “A huge part of losing weight is believing you can do it and realising it’s not going to happen overnight. I looked at myself in the mirror and thought, ‘girl you are not even 30 yet and you are wearing Spanx under your dresses’. I was just depressed and uninspired at the time.”
