DESPITE being labelled ‘‘unChristian’’ in Zambia where she was scheduled to dazzle, controversial socialite Zodwa Wabantu remains a darling among scores of people in Africa.

The social media star was recently honoured by the high-flying house sensation, Blackman who happens to be the manager of Zimbabwe’s RnB artiste, Thuts Rodney. Based in Johannesburg, Blackman dropped a hit titled Crush which is gradually making waves in the country and South Africa.

The track speaks about Blackman crushing on Zodwa Wabantu whom he compares to the likes of the gorgeous Kim Kardashian and American hip-hop star, Nicky Minaj known for having a stunning body.

Zodwa has faced extensive criticism across Africa. Sections of people believe Zodwa Wabantu’s acts portray immorality while others say her actions are publicly shaming women in society. However, beautiful Zodwa has stood strong and true to her principles of not wearing panties.

Blackman, who helped the country’s Thuts Rodney record a song with South African rapper, Ma-E said Zodwa’s popularity and strength to stand against disturbing attacks from various “haters” made him to work on a song about her as he knew it would attract many people across Africa.

“She is a star now but she has faced mountainous challenges in achieving her dreams. I am happy that she continues to wow her faithful fans. However, I am not just a Zodwa Wabantu fan but an artiste also. As an artiste you go an extra mile creating something from what is trending. In this instance, Zodwa is a trending subject and that’s one of the key reasons I penned a song about her,” he said.

The multi-talented artiste who produces kwaito, house and gqom hits said Zodwa recently listened to the song and she was happy about it.

“It’s amazing that Zodwa has listened to the song and she was stunned. She loved the song and that is a dream come true. If Zodwa had responded negatively, the song would have flopped. I’m so ecstatic that she liked it and I’m thankful to God,” he said.

The gifted superstar has worked with the likes of Zola and he said his latest song has attracted South Africa house maestro, DJ Tira who is also Zodwa Wabantu’s manager to contact him.

“I think I have a lot of experience to compete with the big guns. DJ Tira contacted me recently. I might be involved in a deal with him soon. Right now I am still weighing my options. Many artistes particularly from the house genre will soon feel the extensive challenge I am bringing to the industry. My target is winning awards and making fans happy as well as making myself proud,” he added.
